Three years ago, TMZ leaked video footage of Jay-Z and Solange engaged in a now notorious fight that took place after the 2014 Met Gala. Fans thought things between America’s most famous in-laws would never be the same – but they didn’t have much to go on because all parties involved (including Beyonce) were mum on what went down on the 36-second video capturing the debacle.
That all changed Friday when Hov sat down with Rap Radar’s B-Dot and Elliott Wilson to discuss life and his new album, 4:44. And thanks to a little track called “Kill Jay-Z,” which addresses the infamous elevator incident, and subsequently serves as an apology to Solo, Hov finally had something to say: “We’ve had one disagreement!”
For those who may not speak million-dollar music mogul, that’s code for sh-t happens; now make like Frozen and let it go.
“We’ve always had a great relationship,” Jay said. “I fought my brothers and argued with my brothers my whole life. It just so happens, who we are, these things go into a different space, but it ain’t nothing.”
Jay doesn’t give any details on what led to Solo swinging on him like a MMA fighter, but he did let fans know he and his baby sister in-law are A-OK…(for now anyways).
“We’ve had one disagreement ever,” he said. “Before and after, we’ve been cool. She’s like my sister. I will protect her. That’s my sister. Not my sister-in-law. My sister.”
