According to TMZ, Justin Bieber is all in when it comes to celebrating Japanese culture. So much so, that he joined Japanese YouTube sensation Piko Taro, who’s best known for his viral video “Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen,” to film an upcoming commercial for SoftBank, Tokyo’s leading telecommunications company. In the commercial’s BTS footage, The Biebs is dressed in a blue traditional dress suit while wandering the halls of a middle school (or high school – we can’t actually tell) and speaking Japanese.
As Justin makes his way through the school, he says hello to various students then repeats the same phrase three different times before the school rallies behind him repeating the same phrase once again.
While this is their first gig together, this isn’t the first time Bieber and Taro have heard of one another. JB retweeted Piko’s “PPAP” video last August because he thought it as so funny. Now, that the two have finally met, it looks like a beautiful bromance is in the works.
The commercial has yet to air, but the behind-the-scenes teaser is providing SoftBank with plenty of added value and international promo.
