What’s surely viewed as one of America’s most crucial presidential elections takes place in exactly one week, and people are getting nervous. (Wouldn’t you be?) Today’s latest poll tracker shows Donald Trump is officially leading the presidential race by one percentage point with 46% to Hillary Clinton’s 45% – a mere .7 percentage point difference. Because every vote counts, from new voters to veteran poll goers, Miley Cyrus took a detour to George Mason University to not only encourage millennials to vote, but to encourage them to vote for Hillary Clinton!
It’s no secret that The Voice host was once an avid Bernie Sanders supporter, but shifted her focus after the Vermont senator conceded to Clinton as the Democratic presidential nominee.
The former Disney star strolled the Virginia university campus, knocking on doors, looking to lead lost voters to the logical [presidential] choice, while her presidential endorsee lobbied to win over the swing state.
According to Page Six, Miley went into one student’s dorm room and said, “Your room is so cute! Sorry to come in with all these people, they’re awesome people also excited for Hillary.” She went on, “Are you registered to vote? Are you voting here or are you from out of town?”
“I’m from Atlanta,” the surprised student answered.
“Oh cool, I’m from Nashville but I actually just re-registered because I’m so excited to go on the day because I want the sticker,” Cyrus said.
Miley uploaded pictures from her day at George Mason onto Instagram saying, “Campaigned for @hillaryclinton today in GMU in VA encouraging young people to volunteer and vote!!!! ???”
