Lee Daniels Brings ‘STAR’ to Life with Queen Latifah, Lenny Kravitz, Tyrese and More

By Amber McKynzie @amackgizzles · On November 30, 2016

Lee Daniels might have done it again.

In two weeks, Hollywood’s new go-to man behind the camera will launch his latest venture, STAR. Tackling the music industry by telling the story of the artists and not the executives, FOX’s new drama follows the lives of three girls – Star, Simone, and Alexandra (played by newcomers Jude Demorest, Brittany O’Grady, and Ryan Destiny) – who come together to form a music group.

Mentored and managed by a woman named Carlotta (played by Queen Latifah), the new primetime drama plays off the mindset that everyone wants to be a star but not everyone has what it takes to get there. The weekly 60-minute saga features an array of guest appearances including Tyrese, Benjamin Bratt, Naomi Campbell, and Lenny Kravitz, all who have recurring roles on the show.

So set your DVRs and get ready to watch Lee Daniels’ new drama unfold Wednesday, Dec. 14 after Empire.
