NBC Concerned About Jimmy Fallon’s Possible Alcohol Addiction
By Amber McKynzie @amackgizzles · On October 26, 2016NBC is worried Jimmy Fallon has developed a habit he can’t fix.
After a series of unfortunate events that spark back to last summer, the multimillion-dollar network is concerned their late night investment might have an alcohol problem that he won’t admit. According to Page Six, the comedic talk show host has tapped his inner Jamie Foxx circa 2010 and had one too many drinks – on set and at home. While allegedly intoxicated, Fallon is said to have tripped “on a rug at home and nearly severing his ring finger on a table in June 2015;” “chipped his tooth ‘trying to open medicine for his injured finger’ a few months later;” “cut his hand on a bottle of Jägermeister” last October; and most recently, the funny man was spotted “alone at an NYC punk bar at 3 a.m, which sparked more NBC concerns.”
While “inside sources” are quoted as saying, “He is a heavy drinker. He sees himself as somebody who needs image rehabilitation,” and “There were fears that Fallon was out of control and something could happen while he’s out drinking,” NBC Chairman, Bob Greenblatt says their “concerns” for Fallon’s “behavior” are completely false.
“Jimmy is one of NBC’s biggest assets, and we’re extremely proud that The Tonight Show continues to be the late-night leader in all metrics, including ratings and social-media awareness.” He continues, “He’s in a class by himself, and we’re also looking forward to him hosting the Golden Globes in January. As a producer and star he delivers over 200 hours of television a year, and any suggestion that we have concerns about his behavior or have given him any kind of ‘warning’ is completely false.”
For those who may not buy Greenblatt’s statement, other tell-tale sources say that their fearless comic leader is jealous of late night rival James Corden, who’s known for taking his interviews with celebrities on the road, literally.
“Fallon is insanely jealous of Corden,” a source tells Page Six. “There’s been some upheaval, and Jimmy hasn’t handled it well. He’s at the top of his game, but he’s insecure.”
To help contain this situation, Fallon has parted ways with his longtime publicist and hired none other than Brad Pitt’s new crisis p.r. manager.
Come on, Jimmy. We need you!
