Kevin Hart’s Cheating Scandal is Seriously (Not) Funny
For the past four days, Kevin Hart’s named has lived at the top of media headlines, and it’s not because he has a new movie coming out.
The funny man became a trending topic Saturday night after posting an apology video dedicated to his wife, Eniko Parrish, and his 2.5 children (because he has one on the way). Instead of blatantly saying what he was apologizing for, Hart left fans to speculate and guess what deplorable act could possibly foster a video apology aimed his family (and technically the world). And while adultery was at the forefront everyone’s mind, it wasn’t long before the rumors were confirmed and Kevin Hart became Hollywood’s latest cheater.
According to TMZ, a video allegedly containing footage of Kevin Hart and a Las Vegas mistress is being shopped around for a whopping $15 million. The four-and-a-half-minute “sex tape” shows Hart and a woman indulging in an overly friendly and sexually explicit manner – (something a bit peculiar for a newly wed with a baby on the way).
It’s been reported that someone is now using this footage to blackmail the comedian out of $10 million. The FBI is currently investigating the case, and have discovered the name of the woman in the videos with Hart. She’s been identified as Montia Sabbag, a 27-year-old stripper from Long Beach, California.
In the video you can hear what sounds like a bed creaking, with no picture to match, followed by a scene showing two people who appear to be Hart and Sabbag “walking around in various stages of undress,” reports TMZ. Sabbag came forward almost immediately after news of her weekend-long affair broke, and has denied having anything to do with shooting the video.
The FBI is reporting that the extortionist is either Sabbag or another unknown person that obtained the iPhone that shot the video.
Hart combated the rumors with an Instagram video on his account, saying he’s apologized to his wife and his children. “I simply got to do better,” Hart said. “But I’m also not going to allow a person to have financial gain over my mistakes. In this particular situation, that’s what was attempted, and I said I’d rather fess up to my mistakes.”
He went to on say that he made a “bad error in judgement” and he that put himself in a position where “bad things could happen, and they did.” While he didn’t directly speak on the extortion allegations, a representative from his team gave a statement to PEOPLE saying “someone tried to set Kevin up in a failed extortion attempt. As law enforcement is involved, we cannot comment further as it could affect the investigation.”
While the FBI is investigating Kevin’s case, this isn’t the first time Hart has been caught up in a media storm fueled by cheating rumors.
Earlier this summer, pictures of the funny man in a car with a woman who is not his wife hit social media and the rumors began to fly. To make matters worse, Hart also cheated on his first wife, Torrei Hart, who reminded everyone of her ex’s infidelity during an interview with Inside Edition.
In the interview, which aired Monday night, Torrei said that “lies and infidelity” ruined her marriage with the Central Intelligence actor. When asked if she thought that Hart had cheated on Parrish, she reiterated his adultery, saying “I don’t know. All I can say is if it happened to me, it could happen to anyone.”
Though Torrei has come forward to speak about Kevin’s past indiscretions, he’s never been one to hide behind the truth.
In his stand-up special, Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain, the 38-year-old comedian speaks in depth about the fact that he cheated on his now ex-wife. “Yes, people, I cheated. Am I ashamed of it? No, I’m not. Do I wish I could take it back? No, no I don’t. Let me tell you why. You can’t evolve as a man if you never make a mistake. The only way that you can be perfect is to not f‑‑‑ up. I did it, I f‑cked up. Don’t cheat!”
Unfortunately, it looks like he didn’t learn from his mistakes. Must be the life of a grown little man!
